Ruby Victoria Cram (Scott) passed on Sept. 29 surrounded by her beloved family. She joins husband William Thomas Cram and son, Paul Scott Cram, and is survived by her daughter, Carol Marie Cram (Gregg Simpson), her daughter-in-law Mary Vingoe, grand-daughters Julia Kathleen Simpson, Kyle Vingoe-Cram (Stephen Smith), Laura Helen Vingoe-Cram (Brendan Melchin), & great-grand-daughter Morgan Ruby Vingoecram Smith. Memorial at 11 am on October 7 at West Vancouver United Church, 2062 Esquimalt Avenue. Donations to the Alzheimer's Society are appreciated in lieu of flowers.

As a member of a pioneer family who had a dairy farm, general store and post office, he started life at Harrison Mills, now a museum.

Peter had parallel careers in teaching and the military, most recently serving as Brigadier General in command of all army reserves in BC from 1985 to 2005.

His career in education covered a number of teaching and administrative positions in both Vancouver and the Shuswap. He  taught at both the elementary and secondary levels as well as having administered at both levels and within the school board office.  His two-year secondment to the SFU Faculty of Education to operate a teacher training programme located in the Shuswap is one of his most memorable experiences.
 
Peter retired from teaching in 1996. He and his wife Barbara (who happens to be the 2nd grade teacher of fellow grad, Ingrid de Jong) continue to live in Salmon Arm where they settled in 1971. They have two children and three grandchildren and are active members of their community.

This Social Studies teacher smoked a pipe, wore tweed and sweater vests, had a good sense of humor and 2 Scottie dogs.   Due to a conflict of interest, Cathy MacDonald was banished from his grade 10 class (he was a relative).  Soon after 1969, "Uncle" Wilf retired to the Sunshine Coast.  (deceased)

English Teacher,  1968 and 69 sponsor of the Annuals as well as the Future Teachers Club - A shinning penny amongst a serious bunch.  Rod remembers when the "strap" was removed from disciplinary practices in the Fall of 1973.  He says that he always found threats of "first aid" treatment more effective for misbehaviour.  "Rocky", as he was nicknamed by the students,  left PW in 1974 to be closer to his new farm in Abbotsford.  He didn't teach again and was a counsellor/psychologist for the rest of his career.  When he retired, he sold the farm and moved back into town.

Phys Ed Teacher and Sr. Boys Basketball coach was only at PW for 2 years;  in 1969 he left PW to travel with his wife, and on his return worked at Hamber and Churchill.  After 36 years, he retired in 2003 and now has the "job" he always wanted.  Bob remembers many of our 1969 classmates, especially those involved in sports.

Mathematics teacher, sponsor of the student's council for 20 years, basketball and track coach who started teaching at PW in 1928 and continued there for 40 years.  He married, Leona, one of his former students, in 1935.  When he retired in 1968, a comemorative Mathematics award was established in his name -  the G.R. Robinson Shield and Cup was won for the first time in 1969 by Elin Sigurdson.
