I Did Not Die
Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's
hush, I am the swift uplifting rush
of quiet birds in circling flight.
I am the soft star that shines at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry.
I am not there. I did not die.

MANNERING, Anna Jane September 17, 1951 - October 2, 2020 It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Anna Mannering, who put up a strong unwavering 2 year battle against pancreatic cancer. She was a spiritual caring soul, who brought such joy and light to everyone she interacted with. She will be dearly missed by her friends, dog park patrons, neighbours, and family. Peacefully passing October 2, surrounded by sounds of the singing bowls, sisters Tina (Leo) and Sue, daughter Tammi (Doug Thompson), son Todd (Amber), grandson (Lincoln), and beloved dog Emma. May there be joy in knowing she will be reunited with her husband Mark, parents (Jean and Jim), and many others that have crossed over to the afterlife. A special thanks to her neighbours; Tony and Kathy, Les and Kristy, Ron and Marsha and others on the block for all the care and support over the last 2 years. A special thank you also to friend Pat and Barbara, friends The Cooks and Holburn's as well as Tammi and Doug for all their assistance with helping Anna during some of the challenging times, especially during the pandemic which restricted visitor access. Anna enjoyed long walks with her dog, swimming, meditation, a nice warm cup of tea, the beach, and spending time in the garden. The family requests that in place of any flowers, to please make a donation to the Delta Community Animal Shelter. A celebration of life will follow in the future once the borders reopen. We will miss you Anna, but as you would say Aloha for now.

KILBY, Peter Barton
October 17, 1933 - July 7, 2020

On Tuesday, July 7, Peter Kilby passed away quietly in his sleep at 86 years of age. He is survived by his loving wife Barbara Kilby (Stobbs) who he shared 64 years of marriage; and his children Acton Kilby and wife Margaret Kilby, Elizabeth Spencer (Kilby) and husband Doug Stangeland, as well as grandchildren David, Thomas and Mary. He is survived by one of his siblings, Mrs Margaret Robertson (Kilby) of Prince George, BC and predeceased by his Brothers Gordon and Thomas Acton Kilby. All of those who remain are heartbroken at the loss of a partner, sibling, father, grandfather and friend.

Adventurous, compassionate, loving and welcoming are the words which come immediately to mind when remembering Peter. To the numerous people who have shared their kind views and prayers with us at this time, we have been heartened by the thoughtful stories (some taller than others), memories and blessings (truly given from the heart) which everyone has offered. The memories etched in our minds are that of a leader, teacher, mentor and loving man. He enjoyed a life-well-lived. Making every effort to ensure that those around him were made to feel a part of anything he was involved in, and that it was done in a way that all voices were given an equal hearing.

A devoted husband, sibling, father, grandfather and friend, a great teacher, dedicated soldier, fully committed member of the community, he left his mark on all who knew him. As he would have said; it isn't about the end, but the journey that got you there that matters most. His journey was remarkable.

Peter will be cremated and his ashes scattered at a later date. Due to the current COVID situation, the family has decided that a memorial service will be held at a later date. Once known, information will be provided in order to ensure all those wishing to share stories and remember his life may be included. In lieu of flowers or gifts we ask that donations be made in his name to the charity Marion Kilby volunteers at which is the North Okanagan - Shuswap Brain Injury Society (NOSBIS) at http://nosbis.ca the 'Donate Today' button is at the top of the page

Online condolences may be sent to Peter's family through his obituary at www.bowersfuneralservice.com
